As expected the council voted to commence the forthcoming Local Plan consultation at its cabinet meeting on Wednesday 24th July 2019. This will ask Residents to vote for one of 5 options. All these options will include Urban Intensification, approx 325 new dwellings to be built per year for 15 years in the existing built up areas. In addition to this, three of the options propose building on Green Belt land - with significant Green Belt land in our Cobham, Stoke d'Abernon and Oxshott area being proposed which will completely change the nature of our semi-rural neighbourhood.

Community groups have been invited to preview meetings in the week beginning 12th August 2019 and the consultation itself will go live on EBC’s website from August 19th until September 30th 2019. You have to register to be able to vote for one of the options so please do activate this. The link is

During the Consultation period, Elmbridge will be "hosting" some Local Briefings which will be held in the Civic centre – with the Cobham, Oxshott, Downside and Stoke focused briefing on 2nd September 2019 at 19.00. These are ticketed events and you need to apply for tickets. Please visit to " book" your place.

Over the next few weeks we will gradually share more information with our local residents and provide guidance on completing the online questionnaire.
